Mirae Mobile has decided to construct a specialized 5G network for the British international school to be established in Taean, Chungnam, in three years.
According to Mirae Mobile, on April 2, the British International Education Korea (BIEK) signed a tripartite memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Hyundai Urban Development and Haileybury College for the establishment of the Taean International School.
BIEK, in collaboration with Hyundai Urban Development, is pushing for the recruitment of Haileybury College International School in Taean Enterprise City and aims to open in August 2027. The school will be an integrated international school ranging from kindergarten to high school. Approvals from the education office are expected to be obtained within this year, with construction starting next year and completion by 2027.
Mirae Mobile plans to install a 28GHz 5G network in classrooms, dormitories, and sports fields of the international school campus to provide services to approximately 2,000 students and staff. These services include online lectures from the main school in the UK and immersive extended reality (XR) experience classrooms.
A representative from Mirae Mobile stated that Yun Ho-sang, the CEO of Mirae Mobile, is leading the BIEK International School Establishment Task Force. They are looking forward to a smooth progression and synergistic effects starting from the construction of the new international school next year, including the establishment of the 28GHz infrastructure.

Furthermore, Mirae Mobile is planning to expand this 5G integrated service model to other international schools and universities, while exploring various business models to create new opportunities in the telecommunications market.
Haileybury College, established in 1862 by a Royal Charter in the UK, is a private boarding school. Notable alumni include Clement Attlee, the 62nd Prime Minister of the UK, Nobel laureate Rudyard Kipling, and filmmaker Christopher Nolan.
